”My name is Leila Nutti and I live in Jokkmokk. I was born and raised with reindeers and herding and today there is nothing in this world I would trade it for. I have studied the Sami program on Bokenskolan high school in Jokkmokk and graduated in summer 2010. Ever since I have focused on my art.
As far as I can remember I have been creative and expressed myself through painting and drawing. Today I focus mostly on acrylics. I usually paint what lies close to my heart; reindeers and the mountains in all its seasons. I grow a strong bond to my paintings and I particularly enjoy when someone find a painting of mine to their liking. That is when I feel satisfaction! Further ahead I would like to continue living up here in the north and go on with my paintings. My dream is to make a living of my art.”

About Per Nikolaus
”Per Nikolaus Skum was a Sami artist that was born in Gällivare August 1st 1928 where he later passed away at the age of 67.
He grew up in a family of reindeer herders in Norrkaitum Sami reservation where he also continued to work as a herder on the side of his life as an artist.
His art was often inspired by nature, reindeers and Sami mythology.
Per Nikolaus Skum was a nephew to the renowned artist Nils Nilsson Skum. Nikolaus is also the late grandfather to Sara Skum who is today an active artist and close partner to Team Lapland.”

About Sara
”My name is Sara Skum. I come from a family of reindeer herders.Expressing myself with a brush and pencil has always been important, I find tranquility in painting and I love to experiment with different techniques.
My grandfather, Per Nikolaus Skum and his uncle Nils Nilsson Skum are my main source of inspiration. I have grown up with their art and Sami culture. Their way to preserve the Sami Culture through art touches me deeply.
I was born and raised outside Gällivare but now I live in Kiruna with my husband, our three dogs and my Icelandic horse. Animals, nature, reindeer herding and art are my great interests in Life.”
Sara Skum is a young and promising Sami artist from Gällivare in Swedish Lapland. Her naturalistic art is influenced by the well known artists and ancestors Per Nikolaus Skum and Nils Nilsson Skum. Sara had her first solo exhibition in Jokkmokk’s Winter Market 2015.

About Ulrika
”Ever since I was young I have always enjoyed creating with my hands, so it was natural to continue with creation. People in my life have always been creative in various ways and it has influenced me and my lifestyle.My main work include paintings for exhibitions and embellishments, illustrations for books and magazines, textile design and hand printing and also graphical design and art education.
My home is Sápmi, with my family in Karesuando. Living close to the nature is essential for me.”
Ulrika Tapio Blind is a renowned Sami artist from Karesuando in Swedish Lapland. Several of her paintings have been exhibited in art metropolises such as London, New York and Monaco.
